I just bought a '82 Hobie 18 and I really need to claen up the daggerboards.
They need to be repainted and/or refinished. How should I do it? As in what should I paint them with?
    Thanks

I have a solcat that also has dagger boards. I tried painting with Krylons Fusion paint supposedly designed for fiberglass and plastics. The paint always seemed to be soft, never quite getting hard. I finally sanded them down and painted them Rust coat enamel spray paint. Not that they would rust but it did get hard and has held up well. You do have to make sure each coat is complete dry before applying added coats or it will crinkle up. Good Luck

The best would be Awl-Grip paint. It's a 2 part urethane. I painted my Stiletto with it and it hardens well and has a great gloss that will last a long time. It's kind of expensive, but worth it.
