I am living in a part of the world where there is very little sailing. The local "Sailing Club" does make an effort (Doha, Qatar), but there is very little available for sailing and I am partial to Cats. Mostly I see a few Hobie Cats, Dart 18's, and this one fellow leaving the country is selling a UK built Catapult. I have only sailed as crew on larger Multihulls, but there is nothing like those in the Middle East. The cost for these used beach cats is high due to very little supply, so it will have to be this Catapult or nothing. A "rough" Dart in need of work just sold for about $4,000. This fellow wants about $1,600 for the Catapult, which does not show too much wear and tear as near as I can tell.
Any comments, as I am new to this whole class of boat?

I don't know anything about Catapults but that sounds like a steal if it's in good shape. Cats are really fun, you won't regret it.
