Sailors competing in the Inaugural Charlotte Harbor Regatta battled blustery conditions ahead of a strong thunderstorm including 20-plus knot winds. Following are results from the Feb. 5 races. Hobie 16
In the Hobie 16 Class, skipper Kenneth Hilk captured the top spot with Mike Montague securing second and Matt Bounds placing third out of eight competing boats.
S2 7.9
“Bama Slammer” captained by Paul Alessandroni battled it out with “Soulshine II” skippered by Paul Robbins to take the top spot in the S2 7.9 class.
Viper 640
Nine boats competed in the Viper 640 Class with “Jackpot” skippered by Brad Boston taking first followed by “Tijuca” captained by Rob Gorman and “Black Mamba” skippered by David Guggenheim rounding out the top three.
