Back in September, we installed deck ports on a Hobie 16. (See the archives for
complete installation instructions). While the ports are great for sponging water
from the hulls after sailing, they don't offer much in the way of storage. Okay,
you CAN store stuff in the ports, but if you throw a set of car keys in there,
you're going to need 10 or 12 people to shake the boat around to try and find them
when you want to go home).

A great solution is a "Cat Bag" which fits inside deck ports, forms a sort of "glove
box", and keeps stored stuff from "roaming" up and down the hull. While we have not
tried them on the water, they fit perfect in our 5" ports and I look forward to
using them this season.
