Cleaning your Hiking StickBy David HallIf you have previously lubricated it, wash out all the lubricants with paint thinner or lighter fluid. Then wash out all the paint thinner with 409 or Simple Green full strength. Then wash out all the soap with fresh water. Then in the future, wash out all the sand with clear water - no surf water cause it always has dirt or sand in it. Go out past the breakers (assuming you're in salt water) and get some relatively clear water to rinse it. Back to Tech Tips |
