Homemade Extendable TillerBy Bob ArbigeThe original extendable tiller for a 16 is aluminum and they were banned from racing for good reason. I still have one in the garage but use it for other things. The perfect solution for an inexpensive extendable tiller: Go to a discount hardware store and purchase a fiberglass, extendable push broom handle for $10 - $15. Where it screws into the broom head, drill a 1/4" hole and it is ready to install as a tiller w/a quick pin or whatever you use. This is my version of the "Cheapskate's Hotstick" and I have been using one on my 16 for several years. Mine happens to be bright yellow and stands out like a sore thumb. Looks great on an old tramp. |
