We were on our way back from Santa Cruz Island. I was out on the trapeze with a water
proof camera, and turned around to take a shot of Gary Friesen at the tiller.
"That's gonna make a great cover shot.", I said. Later, after the new issue of On The Wire came out, Gary was recalling that moment I took the picture. "I thought about how cool it was going to be that I would be on the cover of On The Wire. So the night you were making the update, I keep checking for the new issue. Finally, there it was. Me on the cover. A great shot of my ass, right on the cover." Gary said, "My friends are asking me, Hey... Is that you on the cover of On The Wire? I'm telling them, Yep, That's my ass all right." Then I'm calling my friends and family, "Hey... Check out this month's On The Wire. I'm on the cover! That's my ass on the cover!" Make's me glad I didn't go with the first draft version: |
