The PWC Letters Keep Coming..
I just viewed your Ultimate PWC Repellent article and was comforted knowing I'm not the only one to feel that way. I have lost a great beach and cat sailing site to pwc's and greive over it. although not a Hobie owner (20' Stampede) I thoroughly understand the sentiment. I can't even sit on the beach in the evening with a beer and unwind without hearing the little *^&$%#* running around. Swimming has been converted from a healthy exercise to a life threating adventure with the smell of semi-burnt fuel replacing salt air. Thanks for the laugh from Ocean Park, Virignia Beach, formerly one of the best cat sailing bodies of water on the east coast. Robert Marrion Loved your solution to jet skis. A multiple war-head missile would be a good next step, for those heavily infested sites. John Schmidt Treat major infestations as you would common household pests. You are not going to make a serious impact in these areas unless you "treat" at the nest. Sending a single warhead weapon such as the Sidewinder or Sparrow missile onto the beach BBQ area will have the desired effect. -ed. |
And coming....
Outstanding. Do you have a smaller prototype available for Windsurfers and Kayaks? Daniel R. DeRango Sorry, there would not be an acceptable mounting platform in your case. We suggest hand grenades for both a tactical and initial deterrent use. A 9mm semiautomatic pistol would be best for subsequent close range encounters for targets that just don't seem to "get the message". -ed. Being an ex-Hobie sailor and current PWC hater....no dispiser, (hate is much too severe), I can really appreciate the need for such a device. I am now a fishing guide and run flats fishing trips where I encounter the likes (or dislikes) of such watercraft. Please tell me if the repellent is available in kit form for my flats boat. Kinda sincerely, Capt. Ray Markham Terra Ceia, Florida Sorry, but the Sidewinder missile mounting/launching system is entirely custom. We can have Herb, our R&D specialist contact you regarding an estimate for installation. At the moment, Herb is in Texas doing an M-60 50 Caliber job on a Hobie 20. |
