Inexpensive Sailing Knives
By Mike Fahle
About two months ago I picked up a $10 plastic handled pocket knife w/
stainless steel, serrated blade which is excellent. I got it at an
equipment rental place from a bucket on the counter. Since then I have
found them at Lowes and Builders Square which are two huge low cost home
improvement chain stores. If I had purchased this knife first, I never
would have looked for another. It cuts as well as the Gerber, is cheap
enough not to be upset if I lose it, is rust free, and more convenient than
the Gerber. So for anyone who has not already found a knife for sailing, I
recommend looking for one of these "cheap" knives. They will do the job
for less.
