Sold! Boat is staying local at Utah Lake.
2003 Hobie Fox Formula 20
https://youtu.be/5X_SPioql4c
This is the fastest cat Hobie ever made - the big brother to the Hobie Wildcat and FX-one. Wave piercing bows and full-volume hull up front allow you to drive it hard in all conditions. The bottom of the hulls are a V-shape forward and flat aft allowing it to plane downwind. It'll do 25 knots with the spinnaker up if you know what you're doing. This is a big, complicated, fast boat. I don't recommend it for beginners - It's like a Lamborghini.
In good working condition with numerous recent upgrades. Being actively sailed.
SNU spinnaker snuffer with WIP cover (New 2020)
Self tacker for furling jib (2020)
All new running rigging (2020, Tapered mainsheet, tapered kite sheets, double tapered kite halyard, dyneema self-tacking jib gear and sheets, etc)
New standing rigging (2018)
New trampoline (2016, Bias with zipper pocket and kite grommets), from Salt City Sailing)
Daggerboard trunks reinforced and hulls faired/re-gelcoated, Crossbars re-bedded (2016)
Trailex trailer with cat box. New tires and spare 2016. Bearings run cold.
Original laminated sails, but they feel fast to me. Tapered foam battens. Original spinnaker turtle and sailbag are in good condition.
Full 31'6" aluminum mast, no comp-tip.
I have been sailing this boat since 2014 and know it's history since it was new. Title in hand, asking $8000. Selling because I'm moving overseas. Will consider helping with transportation.

I sailed Utah lake for the 5 years I was at BYU. Looking at your pictures makes me wish we were on the lake at the same time. Your boat looks like a good catch, sadly I don't need a second boat, but I wish you luck on her sale. Are there many other Cat Sailors around northern Utah these days?
Cheers!
