1983 Boston Whaler SuperCat 19 (MoonDance)
This SuperCat just completed the 2022 Everglades Challenge (EC) finishing 3rd overall and 3rd in class. The 2022 EC will go down as one of the the most difficult of all EC's with 33 finishers out of 100. MoonDance took the big breeze on the nose in stride finishing in 3.5 days.
Her hulls are completely solid and have carbon fiber reinforced transoms and dagger boxes, a thick faired layer of epoxy graphite has been applied to the keels.
She has a 4 month old Sunrise Yacht Products tramp with a oversized storage bag laced with Dyneema.
The rudders have carbon fiber shoes and custom designed downhaulers on pop cleats.
New shrouds and forestay and the mast had diamonds added for additional stiffness.
A roller reefing boom was added for the EC or she can be sailed boomless.
Harken high load furler for the jib.
11 to 1 Alpha ropes SSC 8mm Dyneema mainsheet, Arriba telescoping tiller extension, also has a righting pole.
Her EC mainsail is a stout dacron Quantum square top and the EC jib is a Olympic dacron Tornado in awesome shape.
There is also a set of caliente sails from SuperSalimakers.
Trailer has new axle/tires/hubs/lights and is solid, large storage box and 2 sail tubes.
Trailer just came back from Key Largo at high speed without issues.
