The Miami Yacht Club is hosting the 63rd Annual Miami to Key Largo Race, and adding an optional two-day long distance race on beautiful Biscayne Bay. Sailors can participate with the traditional one-day race from Miami to Key Largo on Saturday April 21st, or sail a two-day double distance race over the weekend. This is a great race for Beach Cats and we invite Hobie 16’s, 18’s, 20’s as well as F16’s, F18’s, A-Cats and all others to participate!
To encourage more participation from cat sailors, the Packet Pick up, Skippers meeting and Party are scheduled for Friday April 20th at the MYC, starting at 6 PM. There will be a separate Beach Cats award ceremony on Sunday April 22nd at 4 PM for those who want to leave the same day. The Final Award Ceremony and Party for all participants is scheduled on May 5th with a big “Cinco de Mayo” bash!
Beach cats can be rigged and stored Friday night at the MYC, or rigged on Saturday morning on Hobie Beach on Virginia Key -close to the start. Beach cats can make use of the boat ramp and parking lot at the Caribbean Club for storage overnight Saturday at a cost of $20. Cost is $30 if you also park a trailer and/or car. Beach wheels will be made available to share.
The Miami to Key Largo Race (MKL), Key Largo to Miami Race (KLM) and MKL-KLM Double Distance Race are open to all boats 14ft & over that submit a completed entry form. Entries should be submitted on www.yachtscoring.com
