bummer

tie downs are a must i guess
definetly would have stoped that...tide surge is the real killer or other peoples boats(garbage cans, picnic tables, etc.) crashing on yours. a cat on a beach also turns into a hotel of sorts...had my share of vandals too...

Yep, and it looks like the boat was sitting on it's CatTrax which lifts the boat off the ground allowing even more wind underneath. Was it left this way overnight? Or was it just bad luck from a sudden storm?

Rat I told you the Prindles are junk. It won't even stay up in a tropical storm.

that's the advantage of owning junk boats...when they get trashed by storms, it literraly does dozens of dollars of damage! i'd just duct tape some bamboo together and she's better than new!

Thats an 18 correct? Is he gonna be needing a mast?

Prindle 18 aka Yellowtail. On the beautiful Mississippi gulf coast. Gautier / Independent Republic of Vancleave / Ocean Springs. Lot's to learn about these boats.

tie-downs can fail too.... in a real storm you should take your mast down, maybe even remove the tramp
MN3 in a real storm you should take your mast down, maybe even remove the tramp

or just put it on a trailer and take it home icon_razz

having lost the last 2 boats i owned to hurricanes...i'm with you matt...even though the last one i did take to my friends house 1.5 miles from the beach in bay stlouis, IT STILL GOT TRASHED AND LEFT ON A 30' DEBRIS PILE ON THE RR TRAXX!!!...but that was katrina, the boat would'nt have been safe in hattiesburg 70 miles from the beach...i had 115mph winds here and lost 4 trees on the house!!! so i'm a little freaked out by hurricanes and boats to say the least. icon_eek

In a hurricane tie the boat to small trees (really small) they will not break or uproot. Learned that lesson in Frederick in 78. Of course you have to be away from big trees and take the mast off the trailer. Hey Rat lets run to Ship Island in Sept never sailed there. Maybe Matt can blaze a path with that hot shot 19.

ship island it is! matt should probably trade boats with me...the 16 is a better starter boat for sure...won't cost him a dime!!! and yes, small craft warnings are the only time i can trap my fat azz out!!! looking at juanas but the winds may have left with storm...once again, small craft warnings are the ONLY time i have a chance against skinny people...throw in some lightning and i'm a contender!

Wow, that sucks... 'least Duly's got another rockstar platform now, but that one was a piece of work.. still is, just isn't getting the TLC it once did. Sad. Too many cats left on Dauphin getting flipped, broke mast, etc etc...
