P18 vs P19 Rudder blades Why the difference

I was under the impression that all the Prindle 16-19 rudder systems were all the same, it appears there is a difference in the blades. The early 19 blade is a bit shorter, the bottom is 90 degree to the trailing edge. Anyone ever run across this.

Might it be because the 16 and 18 have assymetrical hulls while the 18-2 and 19 have centerboards (so the rudder does less work)?

Or someone just drug the P19 ones down the highway a ways to flatten them out. icon_biggrin

LOnger boat, taller mast. Stands to reason rudders are more out of water going downwind. Do not buy rudders listed in San Diego by Scott. He took a wire transfer from Dave in Tulsa for boat, then skipped--is now parting out boat--beware. Pete
