Hi, can anyone tell me what a pair of P16 hulls would be worth?

I've been fishing around for a decent set of hulls for my '77 P16 which is badly delaminated. I'm prepared to cut the outer bow skin off and attempt to recore it if I have to, but replacement hulls at a reasonable price would be much easier. I just got an answer to my kijiji ad from a local guy who's parting one out. Assuming they're in good shape, what's a fair price? Complete P16s in this area seem to run between $1200 and $3000.

The problem most often times you find hulls available by themselves they are in the same condition as yours.

I bought a P16 rudder casting from that guy a while back. Fair price for a solid part and he has a ton of cat parts.

thanks guys, that gives me a good idea ($150-350). The guy up here is asking $400 for faded red hulls but they're supposed to be solid, unpainted and undamaged (it was a rarely used cottage boat). I'm waiting for some photos before taking the 2 hour drive. Maybe I can talk him down a bit.

Red is the color most prone to sun fade. Try a sanding block with 400 grit automotive paper on a small area. You might be very surprised at how well it restores. If so, get an air sander, put the hose on dribble & go for it. Finish with 600-1000 grit & Collinette boat polish & wax, the thing might look brand new.
