Harken 22mm Non-Captive Bearing Small Boat Traveler Car

Anybody know the number of 5mm (3/16) torlon ball bearings that go in the Harken 22mm Non-Captive Bearing Small Boat Traveler Car that's commonly used on the Nacras? They are sold in packages of 20 but there are more than that.

Well, that helped, saved me from ordering the wrong size bearings.

Looks like they are 6mm not 5mm.

The bearings alone and the loader cost just as much as the kit.

Yes, 1/4" for the SB Cars.
If you only need the bearings, they come 21 to a bag. At West Marine, I saw them last week for $10/bag.
If the car is only dirty, but the races are OK, you can take the end caps off & scrub everything out with a small toothbrush/paste.
You might already have the Loctite 242 in your workshop. It's the blue tube, (non permanent), don't use red, it can only be undone with the application of heat
That site,(Defender) that Arch quoted has the lowest prices I have found. Quite a few items, are actually sold for less than the advertised price. Apparently many manufacturers have lowest advertised price, which is what they show. When you go to checkout, it drops it to the actual price.

APS has them priced at $46.03 but back ordered and I need to rebuild several H150 Cam Cleats. Could not find the parts at Defender and APS has them on back order in the quantities I need. May have to spend the extra to get them straight from Harken. The closest West is a 4 hour drive, one way.

Thought about getting the bearings for the H150's aand Traveler from http://www.mcmaster.com/#…ic-bearing-balls/=o1ax3l but I still need springs and a loader.

You can get these from mcmaster Carr $8.75 per hundred

These are delrin, not "torlon", they have other materials as well including teflon
Much cheaper even if you have to replace them several times

My bad... I didn't see the previous post already had the mcmaster link

Thanks Philip, but Gray has a car that needs a home so he can ditch an old beat up rear beam.

Ron, try the place I got my bearings from when I rebuilt a HArken furler. They had lots in stock, & mailed them quick. Andrew told me about them

QuoteThese are delrin, not "torlon"

Tim, delrin are cheap, I think the furler bearings were less than 10 cents, torlon were 30 cents.
