Hello from Germany,
bought two weeks ago an old Hobie 16 made in France 1981.
I'm looking for a manual from the eighties to set up my rigg.
The previous owner changed some parts and not all was an improvement.
The manual from the actual Hobie website differs in some items from my catamaran and I do not know what changed over the years and what got only lost at my boat and was replaced with cheaper hardware. So I'm looking for the correct setup.
Can anybody help with a scan of a contemporary manual?

The good news for you is that the Hobie 16 is still being sold and a whole lot of them have been built, making parts easy to find, even in Europe.
Since 1981 there have been a lot of small changes, mostly in the way the jib and main blocks work.
The current Hobie 16 manual and parts guide is available for download from the Hobie website here.

Those might answer some questions, but tell us what you are having trouble with. Pictures of the way your boat is setup now will help. You can create your own photo album and upload pics of your boat. See instructions in my signature below.

The current Hobie 16 Manual I got two years ago when I began to look for the right cat for me.
The main halyard wire I have to change because its a simple rope at my boat.
The mesh trampoline I sewed tonight and I ordered a 10 mm thick shock cord to give it a good tension.
What I need to know is the correct diameter of the jib sheet, because the current lines are too thick to run smooth through the jib sheet blocks and the clew blocks. The jib halyard wire is a steel cable without the blocks used today. Was that standard in the eighties ?
So possibly some people here can help me.
