Submarine surfaced in racefleet

Apparently a submarine appeared in the middle of the Opti fleet, mid-race, at the 49th International Yachting Week, Mar del Plata.

lets not condemn the sub skipper -
optis don't show on radar or sonar .... if you are coming up from depth .... you can't see until you breach the surface

If the optis had better sonar onboard ... this could be avoided!
they are suppose to clear the area with the periscope right ? at least thats what they said when they sank that japanese ship in hawaii

it was a bit tongue-in-cheek

this was the 49th annual event, the sub surely should have had some info to this...

it is not an uncommon snafu world wide

The SONAR guys would have heard multiple "Starbord!" calls and protests. With my 18's dagger boards and rudders, they would be deaf from the singing and humming.
