I have three sets of Hobie 16 sails that get rotated for use. All very usable!
My favorite, '79 Orange Crusher, good shape...with new orange sail bag, thanks Colorado Bag Co. Someday a storm orange 6.03 oz replacement will be ordered from Whirlwind.
'81 Cat Fever, almost unused shape ...what a find!
'81 Tequila Sunrise , very good shape
My Hobie 21SE has the original Stars and Stripe sails....these fell apart within a few years, stored as sample for new set one day....Whirlwind will make me something similar with square top this winter hopefully!
but my new jib will look great with my white main with red corners too.
'94 aftermarket white Dacron, red corners main sail...Salty Dog/ Sunrise Sails in fine shape
"94 aftermarket white storm jib...used maybe 12 times during very high wind days....
'94 aftermarket white jib sail, by Smyth Sails, made as mirror imaged to original design. Zipper on wrong side of sail so it required a new hole in my roller drum so it could be rolled backward, which I always felt was poor workmanship in design. This sail worked well, but the fabric used in the window started falling apart many years ago....again Smyth used wrong fabric for window...mylar with black threads............
I have two spinnaker for the 21.
One is an original Pro Sail made by Doyle, very large ,in fine shape
One Gleason spinnaker smaller than original Pro Sail design but in great shape. This sail works great on a 21SC
Now, I want a reacher sail for my 21 that is furling for simplicity as I solo sail most of the time. My old spinnaker setup is launched out of a deck bag which requires crew or a real difficult solo launch.............
