I've got a '79 Hobie 16 with an after market remote jib traveler system. Problem is I had two screw heads pop off on the base plate of the right side cleat. Someone had replaced a screw at some point and it was stabbing my tramp cause it was too long is the only reason I was messing with it to begin with.

Question is, does anyone know where I can get just that part and not the whole system? Or does anyone have one laying around on a parts boat I can buy? Getting the screws out will be pretty much impossible because they're very much stuck in place.

I can post pics if needed.

why can't you replace the screws?

if you can't - why do you have to have this exact part - can't a regular cam cleat work (with an angled base)?

The screws are completely seized and twist off instead of moving.

I'm not familiar with all cleats cause I've only been sailing a year now. I just assumed someone would have this old part hanging around for cheaper than I could buy something new. It's an old beat up boat I'm trying to learn on before I drop any real money on something nicer.

It sounds like jalex can help, but if not I'll look for other cleat options.

You are probably right - find a used one if you can - you will def pay a decent rate for a new one

Looks like this crossbar may have been robbed of some goodies. I have this if it helps. Not exact but would probably get you on the water

Got the part off, broke the 2 screw in the process but the base and cleat are still good. I'll try and get in the mail this weekend if you still need\want it
