The Aqua Cat has pylons similar to a Hobie 16. On this one, the corner castings are supported by an A frame structure that mounts to the top and side of the hull. The Aqua Cat does not have side stays and from what I can make out in the photos this one does.
I don't know when the standard for HIDs came into existence, but from what is stamped in to the hull on this cat it has to be before there was a standard. I think that makes it a 60s or very early 70s.
