Hi all,

I have dismantled mast base of Nacra 5.2 and found rubber band inside of the mast. The attachment hooks have rotted of and it didn't seem to hold anything. I do think it was not doing anything vital, but maybe I could fix it while I'm at it. The only plausible thing for it to hold i think is rotator arm bolt inside the mast.

Am I thinking in right direction, should I do it at all or can I just put back mast foot without putting rubber band in.

Meanining I shouldn't bover about it?

Meaning “heck if I know”.
I would say two things.
1-rubber bands will not last long in a metal tube in the sun all day. Likely was unimportant.
2-reassemble minimally and ensure everything still functions as you expect.

Take a photo & post it. I’ve had the N5.7 & 5.0 mast bases off, & I’m not sure what you are alluding too. I don’t remember any rubber band type of gizmo in the mast.

Put my mast back together and left the rubber thingie out.

You can’t post photos directly to your posts.

Start an album for you boat, & add them there, the. Anyone can see them without having to reference this thread.
