I have just purchased a second hand Dart Hawk, and do not have experience with catamarans. The bowsprit for the asymmetrical spinnaker is bent downward by shortening the stays that connect the front tip of the bowsprit to the hulls. Also, the block for the spinnaker halyard is connected to the mast by a line of about 15", which is leashed to the mast. Accordingly, the spinnaker is 15" closer to the water when fully hoisted than it would be without the leashing, the connecting line and the bent-down bowsprit. Is there any point in this arrangement (obviously preferred by the previous owner), or I have better reset it? Sorry if the problem was not clearly stated. Thanks for any advice.
