andrewscottGreat cat... very wet! very powerfull!

Thank you !!!! Andrew!
Couple of cautions. Very delicate and they can pitch pole. We have a big one on our beach and the owner has buried a hull several times and gone over. Not really made to go out in high winds either. It requires an entourage to launch as the hulls are very delicate. Rolls right into the water and the crew jumps on.

That said the workmanship is beautiful.
Very true Larry, even though it is a tank and sails well... they do see to capsize often, and i have seen a few with the transom's ripped off.
and the parts are super expensive!!!!
Is that why they call it a SUPER cat? LOL

actually a new transom just costs labor... no parts to replace... just new glass and jellcoat

(sorry for the size of this pic but scroll to the right to see the damage)...

Oh yea... A friend of mine who is a designer / builder of Cats (has sold 1000's but i don't want to state his name since he is still in the industry) saw this and said he thought it was "shoddy glass work" and should not happen. This was a SC20 (i think) but i have seen this on other SC17's as well...
