Great site, wish i found this years ago.

I've been working hard on getting the locals in Lake Elsinore, CA involved in sailing. A big lake with lots of wind and fast boats with huge rooster tails. 2 years ago I was the odd man out on my Hobie 17 and now we are up to 4! We just started the Elsinore Yacht Club and now have 3 of us racing on Wednesday nights. Its awesome to get on the podium every week!

Also, Im converting my house into a vacation rental with a couple hobies included for experienced sailors. I didnt see (or overlooked) anything about classifieds outside of boats and parts.

Good to be here,

Looking for some advice on a snapped threaded bolt in the bridle rig. not a lot of info out there it seems and can't find a replacement so far. The male threaded bolt appears to have been welded to the eye post the bridle rod goes through at the top of the kingpost. it snapped right under this eye post at the point where the nut would be snug to this top post. Seems to me this is a simple weld a new SS male bolt on tot he eye post scenario? Appreciate the advice.

I am a senior citizen living on Conesus Lake in New York State. I recently purchased an inflatable Minicat 420 catamaran but I have no sailing experience yet. I need some sailing lessons. I am looking for someone who lives in the area and who would be willing to come to my location and teach me on my boat. I certainly would be willing to pay for the lessons. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Anyway, I have a great instructor here and looking forward to putting in as much time as I can on the water.

I acquired a 2001 NACRA F17 (Inter 17R) with the 30' carbon mast. It appears to not have been set up with a main downhaul at the mast by previous owner? On the carbon mast, the rotator arm is at the bottom, with three small built in pulley's. The center one seems for the Main Halyard. I assumed the outboard pulleys were once downhaul related? Can someone familiar with this Inter 17/18 carbon mast send pics of what it should look line with the downhaul set up, or walk me thru it? It appears all brackets were removed from mast base as well.
