After raising the mast a couple of times, one of the first things I ordered was a replacement base from Murrays. This makes raising the mast much easier and safer in my opinion. Here is setup at the top of my mast. The main halyard should include a small ball that hooks to the small plate 6-8 inches from the top of the mast.
