Those folks were looking at us like we arrived from Mars. icon_lol
You must have weird powerboaters down there, or maybe they watched Deliverance one to many times! I cruised over to a Provincial Park beach yesterday, it was Canada Day, our version of July 4, ANZAC Day for those who live upside down, or Storming of the Bastille for our Francophone friends, with the Maple Leaf attached to the upper batten ties. Of course on a hot summer day you need to cruise in close, to check out the scenery, I scooted between half a dozen 30-50 footers laying at anchor along the demarcated swim area. Most gave friendly waves, one remarked that he was surprised at how manouveable my blow boat was in tight quarters. As I left on a beam reach, I pulled up beside & passed a pontoon boat. He remarked that it was surprising how "bloody fast that thing is." I find nearly all the powerboaters are quite congenial, & without exception alter course when on converging tracks, usually a good distance away if they are bigger boats. I have had a few smaller ski boats pull up alongside just to have a closer look at what the hell is that guy doing hanging over the side.
