Thanks for the idea. I think I know what you're suggesting, but a drawing or pic would be great. My jib lead is attached at a single point (no track some boats had them, mine doesn't). I don't have the fancy four way adjustable setup that came on some boats and have never actually seen it such that I could take a shot at duplicating it. I do plan to add a track this winter so I can adjust the lead angle fore and aft.
I think you idea is for a barber hauler of sorts?
Here is the jib lead attachment point:

My N5.5 has a track but I never adjust it. The sail is not the original one and the sweet point for most conditions is further forward from the max adjustment. So I set up the jib higher on the forestay, which has a similar effect. And I forgot about it long ago. Another solution is an adjustable clew plate on the jib, that gives some adjustment. But for your boat it's far more important to move the attachment point towards the footstraps, on the hull it's too far out.
Before adding a 4 way system try just a line from side to side, tied at the eyestraps you show on the picture, each side with two or three knots with a loop to attach the blocks. Maybe one at the foot strap, one midway towards the hull and a third one in between, or something like that.
I made myself an adjustable system, picture is my laptop at the office, will add it tomorrow, i used two laser blocks like this each side. But, given that I changed the eyestrap for a plate like the one on klozhald's link above, attaching that block was easier. Tying that block to the eyestrap wouldn't be as clean I think.

It takes a lot of line, four side to side lengths (about 8m). If I had to redo it i would just add a line side to side, i did so on my old N5,0 and it worked just fine. I personally would never go to the 4-way system, too much of a hassle, I actually had a cleat on the hull for that and I removed it, not friendly with the nuts.. :-O
Barber hauler is different, you can add one too, I don't see the need for it for recreational sailing either. The simplicity of the N5.0 is part of its advantages, don't underestimate the value of that.
Well, perhaps too many personal preferences.. just take what makes sense to you. I must say that making all this mods was really fun..Edited by Andinista on Oct 25, 2017 - 07:44 PM. [/quote]
