Before finding a used, inexpensive Baby Bob, we just tied a couple of gallon OJ jugs to the halyard shackle at the mainsail head on my daughter's Hobie 14T. Wasn't aerodynamic and looked goofy as hell, but was cheap, lightweight, and provided plenty of flotation to prevent a turtle. Our home lake is a shallow, mud bottom rez where turtling often requires assistance from power craft.[/quote]
