Just wondering if any of you guys know a catamaran friendly camp ground in North Carolina Coast?
My girlfriend and I are going camping this weekend and are looking for a place that we can bring the cat. After looking on the internet i found a place called Frisco Woods in Frisco NC. It is located on the sound side and offers places to launch kayaks, canoes, and kite boards. I'm still tring to find out if beach cats are allowed.

On July 4th we are going to try camping and sailing in Ocracoke NC.
I just wanted some input from some people who have done this before or at least know some different place we could try.
Thanks in advanced
Keith

Check out Camp Hatteras--awesome place to camp and there is a boat ramp.

Check out Hobie Fleet 100's site for the Camp Hatteras race, too. Good times. -

Well I just got back from Frisco Woods Camp Ground in OBX North Carolina. It is awesome!!!
I left the boat set up all weekend. I camped right on the sound. Fri- winds were weak but saturday and sunday the wind ranged from 15 to 25 mph. As long as the wind is coming from the south its good. (It was blowing NE on sunday and got a little chopy, it also blew alot of water into the camp ground)
This is a great place to stay and sail on the outer banks.
P.S. - the tent sites have power and water for $3.00 extra.

i was there on the week of the 12th. unortunatly i had a cabin that was farther away from the sound and had power lines inbetween me and the sound so i ended up puttin the mast up and down like 5 times. did you try getting your boat out on the beach in ocracoke? -

We have not made it to Ocracoke yet. We are going down on the 4th. I'm still trying to get the truck and trailer ready for the sand!
1473flyers- Once i took the boat off the trailer at Frisco Woods i did not not put it back on until i left. They said that i could leave my boat down by the water, I just tied it off to the trailer every night just in case the water level rised. I even left blocks, boom and rudders on the whole weekend. It was nice to just raise the sails and go.
