Two of these things came with a used Hobie 18 I recently purchased. Does anyone know what it is? The dollar bill and pen are for scale. Thanks.
.
Addendum:
The material is 5/8" nylon strap that has been braided into an elongated square profile (handle shaped) with a hollow rubber ball at the end that is stuffed with the excess nylon strap.

I is either a sex toy
or
It is used to wrap up and secure things like lines, rigging, gear. Many tarps come with 4 pieces of bungee with a ball end like that to tie down the tarp

That's just wrong.
Before reading that they came with a H18 I thought maybe some kind of hefty pulls for Prindle rudder locks. -

it's a new tool that hobie has included for the skipper.
It's called a "crew adjuster".
everytime they screw up, just hit them with it. Eventually, the crew will stop making mistakes.

I use them for only 1 thing.. to wrap up my fore stay /side-stays/2-trapwires into a bundle, then attach to my spreader wire on the mast (for trailering) -

Actually you attach a 1/4 in 20 ft long line and let it trail behind the boat. It is a water direction indictor. It will show you the apparent direction of the water. -

Two of 'em you say? I do believe you might gotcha yerself there a pair of braided fenders. I seem to recall seeing them many moons ago (if I haven't become senile already). You pull the strap out of the ball, hook the ball under the trampoline lacing line and let them hang over one side of the boat if you tie up to a slip or dock.
