All,
Another fantastic weekend. Yesterday we had a strong steady 12-15 SE and I decided to see if the wife and I could double trap, I rarely get to trap because I need someone I can trust at helm. I figured that this would be a simple matter.
No joy, my rig is a primitive dogbone set up and with the chop and the speed, I had to squat to hook in and by the time I made my move the boat was out of control and the wife was nervous (she also hates the forward most trap). I need to be able to sit on the tramp, hook up, get set, move out at my leasure and make adjustments on the wire. I also need to be able to swing back in and maintain control without un hooking.
What set up do most folks who skipper from the wire use?
Best skipper from trapeze set up recco .. Help needed

i use an adjustable system (makes hooking and setting the height easy.. when i am out.. i can pull the handle and get higher if a wave is coming...
i sail solo most of the time, if i were a racer i would swap out what i have (and let the crew have the adjustable system)....
