I have a 1983 Hobie 16 and am in the process of putting on new jib batten pocket protectors I got from Murrays (found on page 39 of current catalog).
They come with 1/8" round head rivets, what should I use to set these rivets? I have a rivet tool coming that can set blind rivets, but I know it won't work on these.
The only advice I've been able to find is to use a rivet set (looks like a punch) that you hit with a hammer, or the suggestion to use a ball peen hammer. Haven't had much luck finding a rivet set though.
Anyone have another way of doing this or know where I can find a better tool for it? I've seen some hand rivet squeezers, but they were priced over $100.
Should I use screws and nuts?

Hand rivet squeezers aren't that much... ya might want to find another place to shop for them... I did use screws & nuts at one time...they worked alright!!
