Damaged front beam area

Has anyone dealt with this repair? Any advice. As you can see from the pics it has been repaired once before. The bolts have been loosened and most of the damage is on the inner bolt area.

I think the problem is that it has been fixed with just filler and no fiber.
Best is to remove all grey non fiber filler and then use at least glass fiber matts with epoxy.

That is definitely a craptastic repair. Ports added forward AND aft of the front beam, from previous repair. I'd check it out on both sides. The beam strap is wrong. It is for the rear beam.

Wow, that was a poorly done job for sure!! That explains the extra port too, looks like both bolts were done the same way.
The fibreglassing is likely not a HUGE deal. Time consuming and messy but not overly difficult. Look at some of the fibreglassing videos on youtube, maybe pick up a book 'The Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual' is a pretty good one. You may want to talk to performance cat, but after you have fixed the hull my first thought is to embed a nice big stainless washer inside the hull to distibute the load and a stainless bolt to screw the strap bolt into. Not sure what is supposed to be in there now or if it is just tapped fiberglass. Anyone?
Also might be a good time to remove and fill the front port too, since you are going to be doing the glassing anyway...
Might be cheaper and easier to get someone local to do it for you if you aren't comfortable with it. Most sailboat shops are very good at repairing things like this. Cat shops even more so! :)
How do you tell the difference between front and rear beam straps? I thought they were all the same.

When I spoke with Jack at the factory about dropping my mast & dis-assembly, he told me to keep the rear STRAPS/ BOLTS separate, as they were longer than the front.
I have perused the original assembly manuals several times, to work my way through a "build scenario". The manual says board less boat are all the same straps, dagger-board boats have 1/2" longer rear straps.
I labeled every strap with a sharpie on mine before removal, & took pictures. I bagged them all, but did not check to see if mine are all the same.
Jack said it would be obvious, because if you put the longer strap on the wrong beam it would not conform exactly to the profile, thereby not distributing the load evenly.

I also noticed that the bolts are not the original type. The ones on the boat now are tightened with a slot screw driver and appear smaller than the original ones which were tightened with a wrench. The original bolts threaded into a small plate that was in the glass. Can you tell if the plate is still there?
