Snuffer question
As mentioned in the past I recently picked up a H21SE with a spin setup (goods news) but it is a hand release and retrieve setup (bad news).
My thoughts are to get a midpole snuffer setup from maybe a F18 or something like that. Any thoughts and what parameters do I have to contend with?
Spin question
Boat came with two spinnakers, the smaller one is 35M^2 (marked 35 on the sail). The other one looks like it has about 30-40% more sail area.
Question is if I pick the right conditions are these sails going to kill me? Seems like a lot of sail. I have only flown jennakers on mono's before.

You would need a bigger sock than on an F18, no way 35m is going in mine. When bunched, it may not go in the hoop.

See if you can find a used complete rig from a Nacra 20 or Tornado. The older I20's (same boat) used an end pole snuffer system and a lot of those owners have upgraded to the more modern mid-pole setups.
Your existing spins will not work with a snuffer system. A sailmaker could tell you if it would be worthwhile to modify them.
The Hobie 21se (20x10) is a big beast, it would be cool to have it with a modern rig, square-top, self-tacking jib, and snuffer spin.

I will have research this further, I don't have any experience with snuffer systems and wasn't aware that the current spins might need alteration to work.

there is nothing wrong with bag launching for a while to make sure you like the spins... (much easier with crew)
