Prindle 16 mast rotation

Thanks for the question guy's..cause I was going to ask..whether or not you un-pin the mast step hinge before yousail away..I noticed.. when I bought this prindle which I'm restoring to sailing shape that the hinge seemed tweeked so I got a replacement..I'm thinking the guy I got it from never unpinned it so I guess the mast couldn't rotate??The manuaL doesn't really cover this..but am I right that once stepped..and your ready to go..make sure your unpin the mast step hinge?Glenn... -

Glenn, We unpin as soon as the mast is up. And then connect the forestay to the bridle. That way the mast rotates that extra little bit and you get a tighter connection on the forestay. But that is if the 16 uses the same mast set stepping system as the 18.
