Has anyone here found or came up with any alternatives for a Hiking strap cover similar to:
I am sure the Murrays one is great but I'm all ready over budget on my boat this season and am looking for DIY or other CHEAP alternatives.
For instance anyone know where you can get remnant noepreen material?

I have used foam pipe insulation for years. Place ot over the straps (it is slit on one side) use a few plastic ties to hold it in place and put duct tape around where you put the ties. Good to go and very cheap -

You know I bet you could do the same thing with pool noodles, they would have the advantage of being UV proof and very cheap. I wonder if you could slit the noodles, then glue them closed again with epoxy?

Get out on the wire and forget about the hiking straps
The pool noodles sound like an interesting solution.

I dunno, pink and green hiking straps? I guess it goes with the 80's pink and yellow trapeze harnesses. :)

I'm way to big for the wire right now but down about 40 lbs and still dropping(hopefully).

Closed cell black pipe insulation from your local Lowe's/Home Depot (not the cheap stuff). It is the same stuff and has a peel and stick cover down the slot.
