I used to just take my boat out sail and have a great time. Had no idea what rudder/mast rake, lee helm weather helm barber hauler, pvimatics, after market fixes, crew weight distribution, spilling wind, pointing, and snuffer (thought that was a porn film) was. Then innocently after purchasing my present cat 1 month ago after a 18 year hiatus I found this forum. Now I am addicted. I just checked the toe in on my rudders.

Well don't get too overwhelmed!!!
The boat will sail fine with a stock setup, and the pivmatics are something that should have always been on those boats. Everything else is just tweaking for the sake of it, no biggie unless you are racing for the most part.
As long as you are having fun that is all that matters!
I just love the techie/mechanical side of things and wish there was more solid information available (a magazine with the latest gadgets, technology and techniques like they have for mountain bikes!!). So I end up spending more time working on my boat than actually sailing, or so it seems.
The good news is that you will be blowing away any H16 you come across!! I must say there isn't a more satisfying feeling in the world. :)
