Stockton is a beautiful lake but it is a rock shore and not cat friendly or it was not in the 90s when we went there. HTH, Ricardo.

Stockton Lake is not nearly so rocky now, due to the drought, most lake levels have dropped leaving a beach shoreline around most of the lake as can be see from the following link if you zoom in.....
http://maps.google.com/?l…151742,0.220757&t=h&z=12
The dam wall on the North end consists of 90% levee with a small concrete dam with spillway on the Sac River, to protect the levee, they lined the shoreline with rock. The prevailing wind here is a SW wind which makes that rocky shoreline a lee shore, that can make for some interesting sailing.
You can stay at the Orleans Trail Hotel.....

you can launch from their ramp here........

and you can beach your cat here.....

beaching your cat will depend on whether the water levels have risen but I did find a nice permanent beach area here.....

you can launch from the Stockton Public Use Area here........

and sail over to the beach, I think there are camping spots along the road here.......

Hello Midwest Cat Sailors,
It is fun seeing this traffic about sailing in the Midwest. I thought I would add some events coming up this summer at Clinton Lake in Lawrence, KS (NE Kansas)
Hobie Regatta, Point for Points, April 27/28
Hobie Regatta, Frayed Knot, Sept 28/29
We also have a bunch of fun weekends planned for the rest of the summer. See link in calendar above.
Let's melt this snow, and start the season. -Blair -
