Help rigging my Tornado  Bottom

  • I got the mast up on my old tornado finally and I need help getting everything complete. First, it doesn't have a bridle so I was wondering where around me(redondo beach, ca) I could find the parts or maybe a diagram or pic of what I need. Next, I don't have a jib sail or any of the equipment for that either so I was wondering where I could get info on purchasing those. And lastly, we rigged the boom and were kind of confused on some parts of it so maybe if anyone has pictures or a diagram of how the boom is set up with the main that'd be awesome!!
Sorry for all the requests but thanks in advance!!!

  • May be a bit of a silly question. But without the bridle, how is the mast staying up? I'm hoping you are getting some terminology mixed up and the mast isn't holding on by only 2 wires. :) One of the fellows on the classifieds has some tornado sails and equipment for sale here: http://www.thebeachcats.c….php/product/10639/cat/4 he may also be able to provide some rigging photos and measurements.

  • same as eric answered you last time - http://www.thebeachcats.c…40-start-0.html#pid22008
  • Haha well we tied a rope to the forestay and tied that to the trailer.

Also I looked at the pics on my last post and saw that that tornado has a furling system. Do you have to have a furling system? And those pics didn't have the boom on and all the other cats we have seen has totally different looking booms than ours.
  • Well, you'll have to drive up to Big Bear where I have 5 Tornados (and bridle & extra jibs). Roller furling not necessary. Pete 909-800-5237
