Pretty sickening. I cannot imagine what that tumble into the wing felt like (physically or psychologicaly) or what the financial implications were.
Overall this racing looks pretty cool. These boats are extremely fast and obviously extremely fragile. Expensive hobby! -

i am not sure which is worse.. being the guy on the wire who fell off, main wrapped around foot, causing the capsize.. or the helmsman, falls out of the trap wire and breaks off the mast. ouch
i read some of the page with the video.. it seems the skipper said ahead of time the wing has served them well for a decade and they were willing to lose it... and they will be back.
