I am the proud new owner of a hobie 18sx with wings, I live in Saskatchewan where summer is definitely over. I packed up my boat yesterday, I am wondering if anyone has a sugestion of what I could do to transport my boat to protect the wings from the mast.
Thanks

This is from the beachcats technical section. I did this for
my magnum wings. Cheap and works great.

I did this also for my Magnum wings. I made them a little different but same basic principle. At the end I cut the T fitting open and put a piece of carpet on the inside of the PVC pipe to create little cradles for the wings. I think adjusted the angle of the PVC pipes so that the wing rested reasonably flat in the created cradle. Works great for trailering and storage. I need to build a new one since over the years one of the joints has cracked, but I dont trailer mine much anymore, so I haven't gotten to it.

Marty, whereabouts in Saskabush are you sailing it, L Deifenbaker? I grew up in Alberta, on the edge of the Rockies. We used to go to water science parties in the Cypress Hills, & spent some time in ToonTown, that river would be plenty wide for Catsailing.
Sounds like these guys have solved your problem

I am in Prince Albert, Sail on Emma, Christopher and waskesiu lakes, and yes I bought some pipes with some ends, and wa la working well, I cut out the T's as well and for now put some foam there. What a great inexpensive idea.
Thanks

I used two little carpet samples they give you or sell for $1 at the Home Depot or Lowes. I got indoor/outdoor carpet samples. Glad to hear you build your solution already.
