Looking for set of sails for a Nacra 5.7  Bottom

  • Boeing being an American Company is probably mostly SAE, 8ths, 16ths, & as you found out, a few 32nds.
Airbus, being a European consortium is mostly metric, & we all know that 10mm & 13mm are almost the only two wrenches you need for smaller stuff.
Of course both these companies have to be able to speak the other lingo as neither of them builds engines. Every airline decides whether to power with Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, SNECMA, or General Electric. Some are metric, some are SAE.
Same goes for avionics. I think the general public believes that when you lay out $250+ million you actually get a plane. Well you do, but there are no engines, avionics, interiors, galleys...pretty hard to hop in & go!
I remember touring the Boeing plant outside Seattle, they were rolling out 767s with "delivery engines". The planes were flown across the pond, the engines removed & shipped back in order to be put on the next birds for oceanic ferry.
    Crazy business, what?
Once you teach a kid to count to ten he has learned the metric system, so easy a caveman...
