hi all, i've got a line on a project hobie 18 for a good price, so far only have a few pics to work from. white hulls with the later? hobie diamond shaped graphic, wings and an all white sail with the number 1352. any ideas which model this is likely to be? has bad damage to the batten pockets and is missing at least 1 wing tramp...

The brackets on the crossbar tell me it is post 1987. The white sail with a fairly low number would indicate it is not the original sail. Are there markings that tell you it is a Hobie sail? Does it have the Flying H with an 18 on it? If not, it is aftermarket, which is fine, unless you want to race in Hobie class races.
To get the exact year you need the hull number off the stern then here is the decoder ring....

Seeing as though it's setup for wings would make it either a magnum or magnum sx. Mast length will determine that. The SX will have a 30' stick versus a 28'6" stick for a standard H18. The year is found within the number etched into the hull on the starboard side by the rudder gudgeon. -

looking like an australian made? hobie18SX...here's another shot of the sail with the hobie mark and radial sail panels. the wings have the long, rounded ends and appear to be bolted together, not welded
hmmm, how to get it all on my van roof rack for a few hundred kms...
