Hey snazzy new site look!
So I have to ask, what are the breakpoints for the forum rankings? I can understand not increasing them too quickly but the fact that Andrew Scott only ranks a Chief with 1800 posts!? Come on, I would have figured he would be at least a midshipman or master chief petty officer by now! :) Seriously just wondering.

Lets see - Captain = 10,000 posts.
MN3 averages 457 posts per year over the last approx 4 years.
10,000 - 1830 = 8,170 posts to make Captain.
Only 17.8 years til you make that Captain status. Yes, you gotta put in the Yeeeeeaaaaars.
Well at least Chief is a cooler sounding name than Captain.

OK,I'll bite.
What is the "new look"?
Is my overseas netbook so old that it can't show something new?
Everything looks the same, maybe the ads on each side are a little splashier, but the site/classifieds look the same as last week...
am I missing something?

The site was revamped in 2010 when I started this thread. Mn3 was just commenting that he hadn't gotten an increase in rank despite 3400 posts. Now he is master chief (of halo fame no doubt) and you and me got a long way to go. I also just realized that I've gotten lazy and you have passed me by a huge margins. I'll mKe sure to catch up. A have a few more local sailing friends now so I should have much more to talk about. Despite the fact that I put my boats to bed last weekend and almost had a heart attack in the sub 10C water. A few more weeks and the snow will be here.

Right now the lowest ranking is Lubber, short for Landlubber...
So Bilge Rat would be a promotion from that since it indicates they have a job on a ship.
