Hi,
I've recently acquired a Hobie Wave (early model with pre 2004 design mast). The previous owner replaced the shrouds and forestays with over-length cable and did away with the stay adjusters (sides @ forestay). I'd like to go back to using the adjusters for more flexibility when rigging. Can you indicate the correct lengths to use ?
Regards
Nick

Hobie has a wire guide here: http://www.hcana.hobiecla…enuID=Resources/10815/0/
At least on older Waves, only the Club version had adjusters and the Classic did not. So that means the shroud length depends on the Wave version. I suspect that going from one to the other is simply a matter of swapping out some hardware.
You could also contact a Hobie dealer such as Backyard Boats (http://www.backyardboats.com) or a parts house like Murrays (http://www.murrays.com) to discuss your problem. Both are very helpful.

Go to the Hobie forum, they have a special section just for Wave owners. Matt Miller is usually around, & provides lots of answers to your types of questions. I sailed one for a few days in Barbados, tons of fun, a simple strong boat. You'll have to look around here to find the Wave specific one, but there are lots of Wave questions on the general forum

The early ones with the one piece tramp suffered from one piece tramps that couldn't be tightened. They eventually stretch & stay saggy. The newer ones are two piece & you can tighten down the lacing as many times as needed. I'm not sure which year they switched over.
