I have the plug made for the front cradle, and hope to start making the mould later this week. I checked to see how it fit on a H-16 at SYC yesterday and it fits fine. I'll have to make a different set for the rear because it has a much smaller hull shape. Does anyone think the cradle should have rolled edges or can I get by with straight edges?

They should have rolled edges and carpeting as well. I think that if you left hard edges and happen to drop the hull on one while loading it would surely puncture the hull. -

Rolled edges will be a LOT more work to make...already have the plug (with straight edges) ready to spray orange tooling gelcoat...guess I'll think about the rolled edges.

Then just make sure that when laying the carpet, leave enough of an overlap to go over the edges and partially down the outside of the cradle.

Took most of the day, but decided to add rolled edges to the plug. Will spray the orange tooling gelcoat tomorrow, then start glassing.

Sprayed the orange tooling gelcoat and put 2 layers of glass on the plug. Only 4 more glass layers and the mould will be ready...waiting for the next warm spell to finish ;p

Very nice. Are they close enough in shape to work well with a Prindle 18 or are they to close fitted to H16 to only work for that boat? I need something for my trailer and/or Cat Tracks right now I only 2 black rubber bow bumpers in the "Y" shape and they are kind of a small target.

Not sure about fitting the P-18...you need to get a pattern from a H-16 and try it on your boat. I have another generic mold that might work on P-18, I have them on the front of my Hobie Tiger....here is some pics

Ya I"m sure the round ones would suffice. The P18 is an asymmetrical like the H16 though so that is why I was wondering. After the first season with the beach wheels I am trying to decide if I would be better off with the cradles even though I don't have a round bottomed boat. IT might be a bit easier to control the wheels. right now it's a 3 person job to put it on the wheels on land.

I agree...these cradles would make it a lot easier to get your boat on and off the cat trax...no side ways motion when picking up the boat in the water or off the trailer. Cradles are $55 each plus $10 shipping.

Do these just sit right on top of my cross bars on the trailer and just bolt through the middle? What is the best way to mount to trax?

Yea you can bolt them directly to the 2" cross bar on your trailer or the cat trak tube, or you can use 4 pieces of flat bar and mount them like the pic attached.

I'm interested in the H-16 Cradles...Tired of the rollers dinging up my boat. Let me know when you're ready for sale and distribution. You can reach me at opwan2002@yahoo.com. I think the rolled edges would be great! Thanks Darrell
