I just picked up a P16 and am looking for places to put in and people to sail with and learn from. I am in Loudoun County so Upper and Piedmont potomac or DC area are most convenient. If anyone is interested in setting up a sail my best contact is 321-613-8590 tyler@whidby.org

Hey McVeigh, check your PM.
Gahamby, I messaged you too.
Thanks for the suggestions. Point Lookout looks nice, but it's a 2:30 drive from me. I've heard some negative reports about the water depth at Sandy Point, that it gets deep too quickly ... has that been an issue for anyone?
Hope too see you guys on the water when the winds pick up around here.

I have always been told that deep water is better, why is this a concern?

I forgot how far up you are in G-Burg. Sandy Point is the closest open water you're going to find. You've two lakes close by. I don't know if you can launch a sail boat there. There's Deep Creek to your west. I tow my SC 15 with a GMC camper van and assume I'm camping for a sailing trip. I used to do day trips but 4-6 hours of driving really stated to wear on me.
