That's great, makes me want to build one. You should do it Tyler, just don't use the "white-lead" they mention to seal the edges, lead poisoning might take some of the fun out of the build.

don't worry tyler, later in the book it has instructions for building a river raft and says all you need is an axe, an auger, a hatchet, and some "stout boys" to weild them! also, if you attempt the catamaran, don't use the white lead...far to poisonous...use asbestos instead!
the book is a hoot! boy kids these days with there "vidya" games and jazz music...the first chapters deal with shotgun use. just ask your local gun dealer where the "childrens gun section " is and you will be ready to kill cranes, herons, black panthers, and a host of other endangered species that the boys hunted on there gulf coast sailing adventure(page 95)!
