Repairing Tramp for Nacra I20  Bottom

  • There is a small stowage area in the front of the tramp near the boom for misc sheets to keep the tramp clean. That stowage area has developed a tear and I'd like to repair.

Any suggestions for repair? Would hand sewing it be the best option? And if so, what type of equipment works best for sewing a trampoline? Any other suggestions for repair?

    Thanks
  • Hand sew it, unless you have an industrial machine or are quite patient. I do canvas part-time and glueing is a nightmare if you should want to actually bring it in to a professional at some point. Besides sewing really is the way to do the repair - I've never seen glues hold up (see prior assertion)

Sailmaker's Supply has hand sewing supplies. Here's the page.

You don't really need the whole kit unless you'd like it to have round for fixing sails also
The small pack of needles, second item down the page
Bobbin of twine, four down past the needles

    you're ready to go

If you want to take it to a shop, remove the trampoline and for the name of all that's holy, PLEEEZE wash the damn thing before you bring it in...
  • Great! Thank you much
